Students should pay close attention to the specifics regarding general graduation requirements and diploma designations based upon the year they began 9th grade. Students should always consult with their high school counselor to make sure all graduation requirements are fulfilled and the correct CTE courses are taken to prepare for industry certifications and program completion of the program of study outlined below. Students completing this Program of Study have three opportunities to earn college credit before leaving high school. These college credit earning opportunities include: Advanced Placement courses, Dual Enrollment, and Local and Statewide Articulation Agreements. If you meet the criteria you may be able to earn college credit, gain industry-accepted certification, save time, money, and participate in more challenging coursework. Career Pathways Articulation Agreements—Local Miami-Dade College Statewide Articulation Agreements The State Board of Education has approved a list of Statewide Career and Technical Education Articulation Agreements. This supports the Department’s Next Generation Areas of Focus effort Number 3—“to expand opportunities for postsecondary degrees and certificates.” These agreements are intended to be a minimum guarantee of articulated credit and do not preclude institutions from granting additional credit based on local agreements.
